Before founding Flowering Dogwood Productions, Walters studied screenwriting under filmmaker Jan Schütte, retired Cannes Film Festival Jury Member, at Harvard University before attending NYU for Film and Television. Her work has won awards in festivals such as the LGBTQ+ Unbordered International Film Festival and is currently nominated for the LA Independent Women Film Awards. She cites Ethel Cain and Luca Guadagnino as major creative influences.
